i’m so excited about today’s video with masa of echo park! as you probably know, i’m a huge pizza fan, and masa makes my all time favorite vegan version—an authentic chicago deep dish with teese soy cheese. we caught up with owner rob rowe and learned what makes the deep dish special, why it takes so long to bake, and which menu items everyone can enjoy at masa. check it:

Some dude named Andy veganized the Tuscan pizza at zpizza, named the ‘za after himself (“the zMars: The Ultimate Vegan Pizza”), and then made an instructional video so you can do it your own bad self. I guess that’s one way to get your name on a delicious vegan foodstuff. Way to be proactive, Andy!
The zMars is the ULTIMATE Vegan pizza. Special thanks to Andy Mars for sharing this combo with us. Ask for the zMars at your local zStore. Here are the ingredients again:
- start with the Tuscan
- ask for the whole wheat crust
- keep the roasted garlic sauce
- ask for the cheese to be the vegan Daiya cheese
- keep the carmelized onions
- keep the shitake mushrooms
- keep the crimini mushrooms
- change the button mushrooms to kalamata olives
- change the feta to Gardein soysage crumbles
- top with:
+ fresh basil
+ oregano
+ truffle oil
+ garlic
Now if only there was a zpizza in Liberty, Missourah….

The Vegan Zombie Makes Pizza
The Vegan Zombie has a new video up, and when I saw the word pizza the next thing I knew is that I was halfway through watching the video.
I’m am home ill and sick to my stomach and don’t want to eat anything, yet when I saw him take that first bite, listening to it… ah, I would try for that. I would try for that.
The Vegan Zombie webpage - Pizza’s not up there yet, but let’s remember there are lots of great recipes, and I’ll shout out Pizza Rolls due to it’s vast superiority by being most closely related to pizza.
