So I realize that I’ve been neglecting posting for no good reason. Sorry everyone.
Here’s a photo of the amazing Berkley Vegan pizza from zpizza in the Houston Airport. A little too much daiya, and I wish there was a more even ratio of veggies to burger crumbles, but still delicious.

Gonna go make my own damn pizza, mkay.

Pie Five Pizza Crust Controversy Resolved!
The vegan pizza party can start now.
Don’t you just hate it when a company starts adding milk and honey to a previously vegan item? SUCH NONSENSE.

George Bush International - A Very Vegan Friendly Airport!
reblogged from veganvinovici:
Layovers suck but I wouldn’t mind being stuck at Houston’s George Bush International Airport! The boy and I had a four and a half hour layover on our way home from Florida and were absolutely starving as soon as we stepped foot off the plane. As we walked around looking for something to eat we surprisingly discovered that there was a plethora of vegan options available to us. Not knowing where to begin and because we had the time, energy and most of all appetite, we decided to do a vegan airport food crawl.
Our first stop was zpizza where we orded the Berkley Vegan Pie. This came topped with onions, peppers, zucchini and veggie burger crumbles. While we’ve certainly had our fair of vegan pizza, never in a million years did we think we would find it in an airport let alone an airport in Texas! Sure, we have ordered pizza sans the cheese but having a zpizza in the airport that served vegan cheese on their pizzas was an absolute delight. The pizza was perfectly cooked and I think it even had small vegan sausages on it which was awesome. The crust was perfect as well, soft but crisp on the edges. For most people pizza would be enough but since we already agreed to do a food crawl, we picked up our stomachs and moved on to the next venture.
We then went across the way to an organic build your own salad bar where we piled up some delicious looking veggies. We were excited to see that they also had Virgil’s Root Beer as well as Justin’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups - stuff we have certainly eaten before, but NEVER at an airport! Plus I love all things Justin branded so it was a true treat! Our last stop was the general food court which had stations similar to that of a Whole Foods. We ordered a cucumber avocado roll and edamame from the sushi station. Though there was a slight set back when the sushi chef had gone on break, one amazing woman who was talented with all food was able to make us an impromptu roll. Next, we went around the corner to the Mexican food station for a build your own burrito. There, the boy ordered a massive vegan burrito hand made for him which was stuffed with black beans, white jasmie rice, chunky salsa and jalapeños for spice (lots of spice). Again, a minor set back when he had a momentary lapse in memory and thought the wheat tortilla had honey in it but alas, honey free!
We then sat and grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed. And we grubbed.
Also worth noting - the entire staff at this airport were extremely friendly. Everyone greeted us with a huge smile, either called us sweetheart or hun and asked how we were doing. Though it may not sound like much, it very rare to have every single waiter in a restaurant let alone an entire airport be genuinely happy to see and serve you. I hope I have a layover there sometime again soon!
VEGAN NOMZ AT THE AIRPORT!?!

PIZZA CUPCAKES TURTLE POWER!
People who live in Austin are so lucky, in general, because it has amazing food and the nicest fucking vegans I’ve ever met — that Includes the absolutely lovely dynamo Kristen Davenport of Austin’s Capital City Bakery. According to reliable and lazy sources, Capital City Bakery has some DAMN TASTY sweet treats and uh, it’s enough to almost get me on a place to go out there and eat everything.
Oh well, add it to the list of reasons Austin is the greatest and we should all move there immediately as soon as they get a giant airconditioner to cool the city year round. With global warming, that might be sooner than we think!

Vegan Deep Dish at Conan’s
This was really, really great and I don’t like deep dish pizza. The crust was whole wheat and the toppings included jalapeños, pineapple, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers.
Kind of indulging, but I only had one piece and it was made with great ingredients.
I’ll help you finish it!
