I tried being an adult today but it just didn’t work out.

Went to open a checking account. After a long wait they finally called me up. They told me if I made my initial deposit with my paycheck I wouldn’t be able to take money out until monday, so suggested I go to bank of america (the bank that my employer is based at) to cash the check, then come back and open an account with the money. So I go to Bank Of America and cash the check. Then I go back to the credit union where I’m opening the account and sit back down with a representative. I’m all ready to get started and she asks for my ID. she then informs me that to open an account I need an ID showing my current Philadelphia address (I still have my Ohio ID) but lets me know that a mile away there’s a licence bureau office where I can get it changed over. So I walk the mile. I show up and wait in line and finally get to the desk where they tell me that in order to do this I need my birth certificate, and not the copy that I had with me but rather the actual thing, which I can’t have until at least a week for now. No checking account today. I then walked another mile and a half, sat down, and decided that if I wasn’t doing adult things today I would do kid things and eat too much food.

Vegan Eggplant Parmesan Pizza, with mozzarella Daiya and do it yourself vegan Parmesan cheese. (The secret ingredients? Nutritional yeast and ground walnuts.) ‘twas super delish, even with the wonky crust. (Yesterday was the one day in a hundred when the dough wouldn’t rise. Boo! Hiss! Boo!)
Recipes from Lane Gold’s Vegan Junk Food, which I love love love, and not just because I scored a free copy. (Two words: Sausage Gravy. Check and mate.)
