The world of Vegan PIZZA!

Vegan crust (I didn’t use honey)
Grilled eggplant
Grilled zucchini
Grilled roma tomatoes
Grilled onion 
Grilled red peppers
Grilled Asparagus
Nutritional Yeast 
Daiya Cheese 
Organic tomato sauce (canned) 
Italian seasoning 

Directions: Roll out your dough. Assemble pizza. Top with cheese (or nutritional yeast) and italian seasoning. Baked in a 400-degree oven until crust is brown and cooked all the way through. Tah-dah! You’ve got AWESOME pizza and it’s vegan. And, as always, cover it in sriracha.

This isn’t pizza, it’s a work of art!

just in time for vegan pizza day, mohawk bend in echo park has changed their menu and rolled out some new and exciting vegan pizzas. we hit them up yesterday and tried what turned out to be the best pie i’ve eaten in ages: asparagus and potato with caramelized onions, garlic, and leek purée. genius!
they also have a new VEGAN BANH MI pizza that comes with tofu and sriracha aioli. you know that’s what i’m getting next time.

Why make one big pizza, when you could make four mini ones?! This was probably one of the funnest dinners I’ve ever made. My friend Erin and I came up with a few ideas, improvised a lot, and this was our end result.

PIZZA ONE: Simple Pesto
Pesto sauce, cherry tomato slices and thinly sliced basil

PIZZA TWO: Summer Sizzlin’
Olive oil, mango chunks, red peppers, green peppers and yellow peppers

PIZZA THREE: Greens on Greens
Pizza sauce, wilted spinach and asparagus with extra garlic

PIZZA FOUR: DESSERT
Agave syrup, peaches, mango, cinnamon and sugar

The Asparagi (Field Roast Italian veggie sausage, asparagus, cherry tomato sauce and Daiya cheese)
The Etna (eggplant, cherry tomato sauce, Daiya cheese/FYH soy mozzarella blend and basil)
The Funghi e Salsiccia (Field Roast veggie sausage, field mushrooms, Daiya cheese and hot pepper)
