AMAZING VEGAN PIZZA!!! From Cafe Viva Natural Pizza on Broadway and 97th. They have 9 kinds of vegan pizza on their regular menu and really yummy sounding sandwiches and pasta dishes!

I cant believe there was a time when I thought I didn’t like DAIYA. This was so creamy and satisfying I have a hard time believing it was actually wholesome!

Viva Herbal Pizzeria

Every time I go to the East Village, I always crave pizza because I know the deliciousness of Viva Herbal Pizzeria is there waiting for me. After going to a truly awful movie (Young Adult - don’t see it - I ended up feeling so awkward during it I hid in my coat - I hate awkward flicks), I consoled myself with two slices of delicious Viva.

I had my old standby - siciliana marinara - a thick crust, spicy marinara slice of heaven and a piece of Santa Rosa (sundried tomato, mushroom, roasted garlic, kalamata olives and miso tofu). I think the miso tofu could be more flavorful but it’s great for what it is and boy, do I love roasted garlic and sundried tomatoes. I eat sundried tomatoes like potato chips. It’s freaky.

Vegan pizza = <3

Viva Herbal Pizzeria is located at 179 2nd Avenue between 11th and 12th streets, close to Union Square.

Sundried tomatoes,

Vegan Girl in NYC's Review of Pala Pizza - and Vegan Pizza @ The Gothamist

vegangirlnyc:

Looking for an intamate downtown pizza joint with a full vegan menu? Look no further than Pala on Allen and East Houston! This small pizzeria serves up delicious vegan pies unlike anything I have ever tasted! After several trips with my vegan pizza eating partner in crime, my friend Ian, we have sampled half of the appetizers, pizzas, and pastas on the menu! Not to mention the vegan chocolate cake served with soy ice cream for desert!

Pala delivers and accepts reservations (you need one during peak hours). Don’t just take my word for it try Pala for yourself!

This awesome mini-review couldn’t have come at a better time! The Gothamist published a rundown of five (six, really) NYC pizzerias that are offering vegan options throughout the month of November (aka Vegan Month, dontchaknow), including Pala. I tried to republish it this morning but gave up ‘cause I couldn’t get the formatting to cooperate. (I give you guys my all. ALL 75% OF ME!) So this is the perfect segue with which to link to it instead. LINK! The pizzerias mentioned are Two Boots, Pala, Pizza Plus, Vinnie’s Pizzeria, Viva Herbal Pizzeria, and the Jersey food truck The Cinnamon Snail. Click on the links to see which of the restaurant’s nomz have been featured on this here tumblog.

By the by, notice the headline? Misleading much, right? “Who needs cheese? Five Vegan Pizzas That Will Fill You Up” … some of which are covered in VEGAN CHEESE. We saw what you did there. Tsk, tsk.
